The New Momenteo is Now Available!

The New Momenteo is Now Available!

Over the last 4 months, we received hundreds of comments regarding the user experience of Momenteo. All this feedback led to a long reflexion about almost every sections (settings, invoices, estimates, expenses, travels, reports, other operations). The team has been working in the shadows to release the first part of the revamped experience, and we're really proud to announce that it is finally "ready" (as ready as software can be!). Through a lot of brain sweat, we worked on making the application feel unique. It’s not perfect yet, but we feel like it’s a major step in the right direction. Here are the main updates. (For the complete list, read the Changelog)

General

After fixing the hundreds of bugs and typos that were reported, we made a few quality of life changes: drag and drop support for file attachment, a new icon set, overlays for the unsupported browsers and resolutions, sub-menus to access archives and recurring items, a beautiful contextual panel, meaningful error messages, new images for empty states, new avatars and gender picking. Together, these minor changes make a major impact on the usability and enjoyability of Momenteo.

Calendar

The calendar got a visual update, nothing major. It now features visual feedback and animations for the key actions, which make it easier to learn and more intuitive. There is a also timeline mode coming in v2.1, for those who feel like their calendar is way too packed. We'll post updates in the upcoming weeks.

Invoices

The invoice flow was completely reviewed and is now much simpler. You’ve been asking for more customization options, we listened. You can now customize the color palette and pretty much every fields on the invoice. The email sent to your client is also customized using your brand palette, which makes it look more professional and coherent.

Expenses

We gave love to attachments, which were a bit prototypical. You can now drag and drop multiple attachments on an expense and get a live preview to make sure you're attaching the right files. Also, missing informations are now highlighted in your expenses dashboard, allowing you to easily identify which expenses aren't compliant.

Estimates

Estimates now feature the new workflow, just like invoices. You can customize them to match your preferences by either picking your favorite colors, using the Momenteo palette or by generating a palette from your logo.

Travels

The travels section now feels like a proper travels section. It has a more distinct visual feel and the more advanced operations are more intuitive. Soon enough, there will also be a reverse lookup for maximum flexibility when you enter a new address.

Reports

Reports received a lot of (well deserved) love. The dashboard now features pie charts for YTD net profit, cash in bank, available money and due taxes. We also added numerous reports to give you a better overview of your finances: aging payables, aging receivables, time to pay, payments collected and revenues per invoice item. In other news, all reports now features: filtering, date ranges (from, to), download as PDF, download as CSV and print.

Contacts

The contact profile has been revamped to match the quality of the rest of the application. With beautiful reports and detailed metrics, you'll have all the intel you need to take meaningful decisions. Yes, that means you'll be able to quickly identify your worst clients and get a very detailed portrait of your relationship with them. Also, you can now attach files to a particular contact, like contracts and external notes.

The Side Panel

...and last but not least: the side panel. It shows up when your screen is wide enough or when you toggle it through the top right buttons. The objective is to make contextual operations (search, support, settings) accessible from anywhere in the application. This means that a few usage patterns changed a lot, take a couple minutes to re-familiarize yourself.

What’s next?

We’re already working on a new onboarding/tutorial. The community section also feels left behind and will definitely get a revamp. We'll bring back a settings overview page, with every single settings on a single page. And since accounting can prove to be quite complicated, we are currently gathering the frequently asked questions and preparing a knowledge base, where you'll find complete answers to any of your questions. ETA: Soon™ Happy billing.
